The finer details on Lasik.

If you’ve looked into Laser eye treatment you may have heard, or seen, the word LASIK. To get technical for a second, it stands for laser in-situ keratomileusis, which is a technique of laser refractive surgery.

While it’s not highly important to remember what LASIK stands for, you should know it’s the most common form of laser eye treatment around and can be used to correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism.

Fast recovery.

It’s amazing to think you’ll see the results of you treatment within a couple of hours. By the next morning you’ll notice a drastic improvement and after a couple of days, you’ll be back to your normal routine, just minus the glasses.

If you can’t get time off work, book in on a Friday and you’ll be able to return to work on the Monday.

Advanced technology.

Not only do we have the best people, we also employ the best technology. At the Lions Laser Vision Centre we use the Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217z100 - the world's most advanced excimer laser system, with Zyoptix for personalised vision correction. In other words, it’s the best system going around.

Results.

We can’t list the results of every one of our customers, but there have been more than 100,000 procedures performed worldwide with the Bausch and Lomb Zyoptix system. In the U.S. a clinical trial* showed that 6 months after surgery, the majority of patients treated with the Zyoptix system achieved or reported the following:

  • Extreme improvement in vision quality
  • Vision better than 20/20 without glasses
  • Vision without glasses better than with glasses before surgery
  • No increase in unwanted glare, halos or night driving difficulty
  • High satisfaction with their results

But before thinking about all that, we need to know if you’re an eligible candidate. The quickest, and easiest, way to find out is to take the online test. It’ll only take a few minutes and we’ll email your results back to you.
